Classes:
The Bangla Language and Cultural School offers a variety of programs to help children learn the Bangla language and understand Bangladeshi culture. In addition to using textbooks and classroom activities, students enjoy lessons in poems and traditional songs. To support families who seek Islamic education, the school also holds religion classes where children learn about Bangladeshi Islamic traditions and values.
To make learning engaging and modern, the school uses smart TVs, audio-visual materials, and the internet. While formal reading and writing are an important focus, these skills are taught through fun activities such as stories, poems, games, and age-appropriate content. Each week, children also receive light snacks during class.
Class Structure:
Bangla Language: 10:30AM – 11:30AM
Cultural activities: 11:30AM – 12:00PM
Religious Studies: 12:00AM – 12:30PM
Assessment:
Students are evaluated through a combination of classwork, homework, and an end-of-level assessment. Each child receives an individual Evaluation Progress Sheet, outlining performance across key areas: Listening & Understanding, Speaking, Writing, and Reading.
Communication to Parents:
Information about school activities and each child’s progress is shared with parents through various communication channels, including WhatsApp, email, and in-person discussions. Parents are encouraged to actively support their children’s learning at home, particularly by assisting with homework to help them keep pace with the class. This involvement plays a vital role in building the child’s confidence and ability to use the Bangla language effectively.
