Activities

Classes

The school offers a range of programs designed to teach the Bangla language and promote cultural understanding. Alongside structured classroom learning and textbook-based instruction in Bangla and Islamic education, children actively participate in cultural activities such as poems and traditional songs. Weekly lessons place strong emphasis on developing reading and writing skills. These are taught through engaging methods like storytelling, poems, games, and age-appropriate content tailored to the interests and learning levels of each group.

Assignment

At the end of each class, students are given homework to reinforce their learning. It is expected that assignments will be completed consistently prior to the next lesson, fostering a habit of regular study and preparation. To monitor progress and maintain academic standards, the school conducts a monthly review of all homework submissions, offering guidance and support where needed.

Study Tours

Each year, at the end of the summer session, the Bangla School organizes a self-financed field trip for its students. This initiative provides an enriching opportunity for learners to broaden their understanding across various subjects through real-world exploration. More than just an educational outing, the trip serves as a shared experience that fosters connection, collaboration, and the joy of discovering ideas together.

Cultural Activities & Picnic

In addition to Bangla language and religious education, the school actively celebrates major Bangladeshi cultural events such as Ekushey February, Independence Day, and Pohela Boishakh—often in collaboration with the Bangladesh Australia Association, Canberra Inc. The school also hosts annual picnics, contributes to the ACT Community Language Open Day and Annual Dinner, and participates in the Multicultural Festival. Other activities include Eid celebrations, outdoor excursions, and sports days, which foster community spirit and cultural appreciation.
